Scans are clear! The surgery site is still healing & that will take a while. My counts are pretty low but they will come up over time. The port is coming out on Wednesday! More soon.
I'm a working mom & wife in Franklin, Tennessee. Kendall & I have been married for almost 21 years and have 2 beautiful (well we think they are beautiful) and smart (I've always hated how girls are called beautiful above smart) daughters, who are just about 11 and 17. We live in the country in Franklin with our menagerie of pets (3 cats and our 2 Weimeraners - Syd and Jessie).
I have a really fun and interesting job in marketing. I work for a mutual insurance company that works with physicians. Each day is fun and different, and the people with whom I work are second to none. I truly enjoy each day at work.
Why did I write a blog? I spent most of 2012 undergoing treatment for an extra-skeletal Ewing's sarcoma - surgery, radiation, chemo, etc. I started writing this blog when I received my diagnosis, both as a way of documenting my journey and as a way of keeping family and friends informed of my progress.
Once treatments ended, I continued to write very occasionally as I learned through trial and error how to return to a normal life and discovered what it means to be a cancer survivor. Now, almost five years after my experience, I have resumed writing as means of creative expression and a fun hobby.
Such wonderful, amazing, happy news! Congratulations, let the celebration begin! :)
